What is WSA?
Sponsors
Wally Scheer & Associates (WSA) was formed in 1995 to help racers, manufacturers, and sponsors benefit from the exciting sport of professional snowmobile racing. WSA incorporates 4 different forms of snowmobile racing under one body they are Hill X, Hilldrags, Kids X, & Xtreme Ice racing. Ice Oval Racing is the original form of snowmobile racing and has lasted through the years as other forms have come and gone. This year again with the hard work and determination to get Ice racing and Hill X / Drags back on TV we have succeed again and are proud to say WSA Racing will be hitting over 52 million households weekly this season.
WSA Racing strives in making each weekend a great weekend of racing for fans and racers, while at the same time our goal is to bring everyone together to feel like one big family. While winning is always a great goal for any racer and the memories of racing last a long time, we feel that when a racer hangs up his or her helmet that the greatest memory they have is all the new friends that they have brought into their lives thru racing.
WSA Ice Racing:
Ice racing was the first form of snowmobile racing and still is the fastest form of snowmobile racing around today. Ice racing cobines the speed of specially set up snowmobiles to the finesse of cornering at very high speeds. With these men and women pushing speeds of 100+ mph and charging in to the corners 6 plus racers together and putting all their faith in two pieces of carbides to hold them thru the turns it truly is amazing to watch. The love and dedication these men and women put into their machines is truly a passion and when they race is a art form.
Xtreme Ice races consist of a two day event with a qualifying round robin format ran on Saturday and last chances, semi finals, and finals ran on Sunday. There are some classes ran to completion on Saturday including the Big Guns Final in the Pro Formula 600 class ending the race day Saturday.
At select WSA Racing events there will also be ATV & Motorcycle Ice Racing which we feel will brings a exciting addition to the racing action.
WSA Hill X & Kids X:
Hill X has emerged as the newest form of snowmobile racing and since its WSA Racing introduced it in 1994 and has quickly caught on to be one of the favorite forms of snowmobile racing for racers and fans. Racers are lined up to 10 wide to drag race up a specially built ski run with doubles, triples, wash board sections, and table tops and the first one to the top wins. These men and women deify the laws of gravity every weekend, and are jumping over lengths of 160+ up hill 5 plus in the air next to each other and at speeds of over 80 Mph.
Hill X races consist of a two day event with a qualifying round robin format ran on Saturday. Saturday's race day ends with the Big Air contest sponsored by Halvorson Concrete which is open to Pro & Semi Pro racers. The Big Air contest is a awesome display of driver ability aswell as pure guts to jump as high and as far as you can. Sundaystarts of withlast chances than into semi finals and after that is all done than into the finals. At the end of Sunday we take the winner from each class in each division and they have a face off to determine who in the each division truly is the King Of The Hill for that weekend.
WSA Kids X is held at all Hill X events, and is ran on Sundays only. Kids X is a time for kids ages 4-12 get to try out and get a feeling for racing on their 120's. Kids X is held on smaller SnoX style course. At most events ALL kids that raced in Kids X get to come over to the big hill and they all race up the Hill X course to a desinated spot. This is a great time for the kids to get to race on the "big guy" hilland meet the racers in Hill X being that we ask for the Hill X racers to help them start out at the starting line. The fans really enjoy this also and love to see the kids on their 120's rip up the hill.
The main purpose of Kids X is to get the kids use to compition of racing and teach them sportsmanship, and over all make friends and have FUN!!!
WSA Hilldrags:
Hill Drags was added to each Hill X racing weekend 3 seasons ago and has quickly caught on to be a favorite. Each weekend racers line up to drag race head to head up a 500'+ ski hill run, but this ski hill run does not have the jumps instead it is about pure horsepower and hole shot. Hill Drags has caught on to alot of people who still have racing running threw their veins, but would rather not be flying threw the air.
